Miscauno Island in northeastern Marinette County, just outside of Pembine.  The only access to the island is via this one-lane 100-year-old steel constructed bridge.

It’s a bridge. I’m in.

Wait a sec. A bridge? A red bridge? Peak fall color with a side order of  fog?  Outstanding!

And… the lovely Menominee River to provide reflections. All this and it’s only 8:00 in the morning.

I include this next picture purely because I did a subdued-but-heartfelt Happy Dance when I looked at it. It’s lined up exactly as I wanted: no cropping, no adjusting. Framed like I was seeing it in my mind’s eye. The exposure blew out the sky and details behind the girders and that was happy chance for me since this shot was all about the geometry as opposed to the scenery.

Because my Anxiety Closet is always filled to overflowing, it did occur to me that I could be swept from the bridge by a crazy fog-blinded driver, but I needn’t have worried. The absolute silence gave plently of space for hearing birds, rustling leaves and an old truck that slowly approached the island. The truck’s lights provided a nice punctuation mark.

My co-worker from Wisconsin approves, too!

So lovely. I would love to print the first one, I want to step into that scene. Magical, way to go Canon Sister

  3. Beautiful, beautiful, and beautiful. Love what you’ve captured here.
